Henrietta Chambers, FNP
About Henrietta Chambers, APRN, MHSA, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC:
Henrietta Chambers was born in St. Martinville and grew up in New Iberia, Louisiana. She moved to Jeanerette over 10 years ago to live in the community where she enjoyed working. With over 33 years of nursing experience, Henrietta has dedicated her career to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Henrietta attended the University of South Louisiana in Lafayette—now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL), where she earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing in 1992. She later pursued a Master of Science in Health Service Administration from the University of Saint Francis in Joliet, Illinois, in 1999. She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing from ULL and achieved board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2004. In 2024, Henrietta further advanced her expertise by earning a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from McNeese State University.
Henrietta began her career as a registered nurse at Dauterive Hospital and Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, where she worked from 1992 to 2004. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she worked alongside neurosurgeon Dr. Bertuccini and later with Dr. Luiz Alvarez in gastroenterology. However, she found her true calling and home in Jeanerette, LA, where she practiced at the Jeanerette Rural Health Clinic for 20 years and developed lasting relationships with her patients.
A proud member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, Henrietta was awarded the Outstanding Service-Learning Award in 2004 and the Outstanding Graduate Award in 2024. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Henrietta believes deeply in the teachings of Florence Nightingale, especially the concept of holistic care, as well as the belief that nursing is a divine calling from God. She views patient care as not just treating illness but creating a nurturing environment that combines compassion, empowerment, and addressing the emotional and spiritual needs of patients. Henrietta is committed to fostering a healing space that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being for all of her patients. She loves her patients and feels blessed to be in a profession where caring is the key!
